About Us

The 3H Foundation helps people with disabilities and carers have a period of respite.  The 3H Foundation was formed in 1975 to provide holiday opportunities for families who faced similar needs.  Years later the charity is still providing holidays for children and adults with disabilities!

Our grant programme assists families on a low income who have a family member with disabilities, to organise their own UK holiday. The grants are given for the accommodation part of the holiday and are paid directly to the chosen venue. Carers can also be awarded a grant for a holiday away from their caring role.

The 3H carers programme enables carers to spend a respite spa day out in chosen spa hotels around the country.

The carers spa day package could include:
Welcome soft drink – One 60 minute treatment – 2 course lunch
Use of the spa swimming pool – Afternoon tea

The carers programme also provides alternative forms of respite to carers who are unable to take time away from their cared for. Through working with carer organisations, 3H provides home-based respite hampers and experiences.

3H organises subsidised group holidays for people with disabilities. Hereby giving their day-to-day carers a valuable period of respite at the same time. With our experience in organising accommodation and activities, 3H can enable people to get away on an independent holiday away from their day to day carers.

Our TeensPLUS programme enables existing organisations to continue their good work supporting teenagers who may be socially isolated due to their disability or their caring duties. We provide opportunities for those aged 13 – 25 with disabilities and young carers to try new activities through our home-based challenges. We also work with caring organisations to support young carers by providing home-based activity hampers
